Along the unspoiled, white sandy beaches bordering the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez, Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort earns its name as the "Jewel of the East Cape" in Mexico's Baja Peninsula. An oasis fed by clear, natural hot springs, the lush, tropical landscape of palm trees and exotic flowers provides the backdrop for a perfect getaway, offering complete relaxation, active adventure or a little of both!

Our Experience

Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort is 35 miles north of Cabo, 70 miles southeast of La Paz and just a short boat ride from the Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. The hotel and dive staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and did everything in their power to ensure we had a safe and memorable dive trip. The air temperature was a balmy 80 and the water a very refreshing 72 degrees.

On almost every ride to and from the dive sites, we saw dolphins, humpback whales and more pelagics than you could count. During the dives, we were often visited by friendly Goliath groupers, turtles, rays, guitarfish, octopus, porcupinefish and, of course, lots of sea lions. In fact, during a couple of our surface intervals, we had the distinct privilege of snorkeling with these amazing, friendly, inquisitive and playful animals.

There was great camaraderie within the group and we spent many evenings together enjoying libations, reminiscing about the dives and just taking in all the beautiful scenery. What an incredible trip! We look forward to returning to this Mexican paradise in the near future.
