Known worldwide as the "Mexican Galapagos", Socorro Island is the kind of place where amazing can happen at any time. This group of volcanic islands attracts large concentrations of pelagic fish, sharks, and the biggest mantas you can dream of. The Socorro Islands are found approximately 240 miles south of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, making it a remote location where only long range boats such as the Sea Escape can go. This fact, along with the preservation efforts of the onsite Mexican Navy, makes Socorro Island a dream place for all divers.

The Diving
The Socorro Islands have earned the reputation for having some of the best big animal encounters in the world. The "Mexican Galapagos" reference is a result of divers encountering huge schools of hammerhead, Galapagos, white-tip, silky and even whale sharks. Socorro is also well known for incredible manta rays. These gentle giants are very curious and often make close passes, providing amazing experiences for divers! There is even the possibility of seeing majestic humpback whales while transitting between the different dive sites. We will be assisting Fins Attached with their shark research project as well and hope to tag a few species on the trip. This is an unique opportunity to contribute to research on a variety of shark species while enjoying superb diving!
our accommodations
The Sea Escape is a 110ft aluminum vessel built to comfortably accommodate up to 16 divers. Each stateroom has private, ensuite facilities. The spacious living room has a 42" flat screen TV, DVD player, and plenty of room to relax after a great day of diving. The dive deck has a well appointed camera area and offers aluminum 80s, 100s, and 120s for those who consume air faster than others! There is nothing better than enjoying the sunset or catching some rays on the roomy sundeck! The Sea Escape is a cozy home away from home for your dive adventure!
